287. The Prestige

287. The Prestige (right click OR click)

This is a good movie and a pretty solid podcast from Joshua and Ian (me).  I have to admit that I enjoyed this film much more on a second viewing when it was further removed from dashed expectations.

"Thank you, there are only 13 shows left."

250. Sherlock ep.1

250. Sherlock ep.1 (right click OR click)

Zack and Ian end the old year and start the new one with a hefty discussion about detectivish goodness. Sherlock is one of the best new shows to be sure. Doing the detective genre in a fun/modern way without turning it into CSI garbage. Tune in next week for ep. 2-3 and a little hint of a clue as to the show Ian is currently writing that will be the biggest thing in 2022.

242. NBA Preseason (right click OR click)

In keeping with the Futile Podcast mandate to expand out we demonstrate the turgid tendril of sports as Seth and Zack talk about the B Ball.

240. Fight Club

Zack and Ian talk about the trials and tribulations of growin’ up in the 90’s.

Dead Can Dance -Enigma of the Absolute

239. Social Network

239. Social Network (right click OR click)

Zack and Ian are back in futile form for this one. Is it the new Citzen Kane? Or is it just what you get when you have a talented group of people make a movie about shallowness and the computers that they use for love ?

music: nine inch nails – Something I Can Never Have

230. The Expendables and Scott Pilgrim

230. Expendable Pilgrim (right click OR click)

Zack, Seth, and Ian go for both.  It’s a great chat about 80’s action movies and the pathology of modern subculture.
