  1. The ensemble of perspectives in this podcast was great. Good points made by all. I too enjoyed Inception. Like Ian said, it is almost perfect and only deserves nit-picking because of its near-perfection. My nit-pick is the weak motivation for the plot (Sato’s company can no longer compete with Fischer’s near-monopoly). That just clunked for me. Also, I think Josh spoke about that one crummy CGI shot where Cobb and Juno step onto/walk up the vertical wall/street in Juno’s first dream. Also, for me the ending was a let down. It seemed too simple and neat. Another happy ending. But then again, like Cobb said in the movie, we’re all yearning for catharsis, so maybe I should just accept the joyful ending and be about my business.

I’d like to mention that the way Cobb kept his memories locked up in his dreams, separated by floors accessible through an elevator, reminded me of the “Mind Library” of the main character in the movie Dream Catcher.

Oh, and Josh isn’t entirely accurate about the lack of establishing shots. There were a few aerial shots of cities, a speeding train, and an airport that I can recall.
