For our Halloween episode we talk about monster movies. We review 30 Days of Night. Zack talks about how the film measures against the graphic novel and our guest Blaine talks about how it felt like a zombie movie. Then we talk about a handful of other monster movies including George Romero’s Land of the Dead, Silver Bullet, John Carpenter’s The Thing, Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive, Ridley Scott’s Alien, and the Mel Brook’s comedy/monster movie Young Frankenstein.

Blaine points out that my pitch is vaugely like FLCL episode 6 and Zack’s is like an episode of Scary Door from Futurama. Then we philosophize about what it is people like in monster movies: the violence, the voyeurism?
